Pastor stevie m. trent sr.

Reverend Stevie M. Trent, Sr., a native of Cumberland, Virginia, is the son of Mrs. Gloria M. Trent and the late Rev. Dr. Donald L. Trent, Sr. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the tender age of 5, was baptized, and became a member of Second Union Baptist Church, Goochland, Virginia. Continuing with his spiritual growth, Reverend Trent preached his Initial Sermon in 1999 at Second Union Baptist Church under the devoted leadership of his father, the late Reverend Dr. Donald L. Trent, Sr. He is the former pastor of Center Union Baptist Church, Powhatan, Virginia where he led the people to “Work Together as We Work for God” for nine years. In August 2013, Second Union Baptist Church family elected Reverend Stevie Trent as its sixth pastor following the leadership of his father, where he will continue to develop Christian disciples through instruction, obedience, and the utilization of the Word of God.

 

Reverend Trent obtained his primary and secondary education within the public schools of Cumberland, Virginia, graduating from Cumberland High School (1993). He continued his education at Faith International Bible College where he earned his Associate and Bachelors of Theology Degree (2012). Presently, he is pursuing a degree in criminal justice at Southside Virginia Community College.

 

Reverend Trent’s work for the Lord began at an early age. He was a member of the Second Union Baptist Church Ushers’ Ministry and the Gospel Choir. Reverend Trent is also a gifted pianist, possessing the ability to play by ear. He served as the pianist/musician for Cloverdale, New Hope, County Line, Mt. Olive, and Second Union Baptist Churches from 1992 to 2003.

 

Reverend Trent has distinguished himself in a number of civic roles. In 2005, he joined the Baptist Ministers Conference of Goochland and Vicinity where he currently serves as the Financial Secretary. Reverend Trent is employed for the Virginia Department of Corrections in the Office of Investigations as the Intelligence Officer/Gang Specialist. In 2012 he was trained in one of the first groups at VCCW as a Subject Matter Specialist with concentration on effective communication.

 

Reverend Trent is married to his best friend and the love of his life, the former Nicole Hackney Trent, and sharing in their joy are their three sons, Hakeem, Stevie, and Chanze.

 

Reverend Trent believes that he has come this far by God’s mercy and grace and will continue to press toward the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.
